We, of UGSoft, believe that offering of products has to be created in a way where customers may easily be able to assess all related product costs.
It cannot be permitted that product features from different components will be placed in a way where no transparency exists as to when and for which costs special features are required, and whether special combinations with other components may later be achieved or not. Those hidden costs are considered to be unsound and unfair.
We therefore are endeavoured to offer our products to be easily surveyed - which product is required for specific functionality, and where costs are immediately made plain without complicate calculations.
Thus, in our ES-Backup pricelist for data backup to tape libraries you will find only one product - ES-Backup Workgroup - which already contains all necessary functionalities to use any tape library. You need not purchase any additional components - neither now nor later - you may use any amount of tape libraries, any number of slots in the tape library, install as many tape drives as you like, and backup any amount of network clients.
To be honest however one has to accept two exceptions: using ES-Backup on HELIOS fileservers and carrying out several backup jobs simultaneously requires additional licensing. Necessary additional costs, however, are clearly calculable in advance.
According to this product philosophy update costs for new product versions are clearly evident as well - one update, one price, without 'ifs'or 'buts'. When looking for applicable data backup software you probably will have met with other offers which made price calculations not even easy.
Prices of our products are calculated that short that a better price/performance ratio will be found hardly. Marketing of our products is optimized that intensively that no unnecessary costs will be caused. Purchasing our products will not support any product advertising.
However, giving away our products free-of-charge is not possible – after all we make a living by developing software.
