Notes on ES-Backup up011, 1. August 2001

Overview
--------
This document describes the contents and installation of the
ES-Backup update up011 as of 1. August 2001.


up010 contents
--------------
This update is made of 1 Unix compressed tar-archives used for
updateing ES-Backup 3.0.2 on Linux.

NOTE: Do not install this update on any other version of ES-Backup
than version 3.0.2 .


The tar-archives include the following files:

esbdump, esbrestore:
- - - - - - - - - -
These executable binaries will be installed in the subfolder etc/
of ES-Backup Server installation directory specified during the
installation.
All files have the version number 04b23a2.

Changes incorperated with this update:
Latest Linux sources (dump.sourceforge.net) for dump/restore
adapted for ES-Backup.


Server Installation
-------------------
Unstuff the file "up011.sea.hqx" on your Macintosh, e.g. by using
StuffIt Expander. A folder up011 will be created.

For updateing ES-Backup 3.0.2 on:

Linux copy the file
"up011:Software:linux:up011_linux-int.inst.tar.Z"


to an EtherShare volume.

As root user do the follwoing from the Unix console:

(make sure no user is connected to the ES-Backup server,
stop the ES-Backup server)
# cd /usr/local/bu
# ./stop-busrv

# cd /tmp
# uncompress -c ESVOLUME/up011_YYY.inst.tar.Z | tar xvf -
(ESVOLUME is the path to your EtherShare volume)
(YYY is the requested filename part of the update file)
(The folder /tmp/ES-BACKUP-UP010 will be created)

# cd /tmp/ES-BACKUP-UP011

(now call the update script)
# ./UP011.SH
(The update will be installed. Follow the installation instructions
from the script)
